ANNUAL CERTIFICATION & MCLE REPORT

ALL ATTORNEYS ON BRAZORIA COUNTY’S INDIGENT DEFENSE APPOINTMENT LIST MUST SUBMIT THE ANNUAL CERTIFICATION FORM WITH AN UPDATED STATE BAR OF TEXAS MCLE REPORT ATTACHED TO IRIS HUERTA NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 1ST OF EACH YEAR TO REMAIN ON THE LIST TO RECEIVE COURT APPOINTMENTS. THIS FORM CAN ALSO BE FOUND ON THE BRAZORIA COUNTY WEBSITE UNDER INDIGENT DEFENSE:  brazoriacountytx.gov or via the fillable form below.

  • ATTORNEYS MUST COMPLETE A MINIMUM OF TEN (10) HOURS OF CERTIFIED C.L.E. CREDITS ANNUALLY IN CRIMINAL LAW. NO SELF-STUDY HOURS WILL BE COUNTED. C.L.E. ACTIVITY COMPLETED WITHIN A ONE-YEAR PERIOD IMMEDIATELY PRECEEDING AN ATTORNEY’S INITIAL REPORTING PERIOD MAY BE USED TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR THE INITIAL YEAR. C.L.E. ACTIVITY COMPLETED DURING ANY REPORTING PERIOD IN EXCESS OF THE MINIUMUM TEN (10) HOUR REQUIREMENT FOR SUCH PERIOD MAY BE APPLIED TO THE FOLLOWING PERIOD’S REQUIREMENT. THE CARRYOVER PROVISION APPLIES TO ONE YEAR ONLY.  ATTORNEYS ACCEPTING JUVENILE APPOINTMENTS MUST HAVE SIX (6) HOURS IN JUVENILE C.L.E., WHICH MAY BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE REQUIRED TEN (10) HOURS.
