Brazoria County District Courts COVID-19 Preventative Actions

The following procedures have been established for conducting criminal court business in the District Courts for the month of April 2020.  Beginning April 1, 2020, each District Court Judge will take turns holding daily dockets for defendants currently incarcerated.  The docket will start at 9:00am, and will be limited to no more than 10 defendants.  The District Court daily dockets will conclude no later than 12:00pm so they do not interfere with the County Court at Law afternoon daily dockets.  Also, ALL District Court daily dockets will be held in the 300th District Court courtroom.  The defendants will be separated between the 300th and 461st courtrooms, and brought into the 300th courtroom when all parties are ready.

To add a defendant to a jail docket, please contact the court coordinator (Denise Damian: 979-864-1263 denised@brazoria-county.com).

The District Court schedule is as follows:

  • Mondays:  239th District Court
  • Tuesdays:  300th District Court
  • Wednesdays:  412th District Court
  • Thursdays:  149th District Court
  • Fridays:  461st District Court

Please note that a defendant’s case does NOT have to be scheduled on the same day as the District Court his/her case is pending in.

Also, please note that the currently scheduled criminal dockets in all Brazoria County District Courts for the month of April 2020 are CANCELED. Please contact Denise Damian to get another court date if you do not plan to resolve your client’s case on an April daily docket.

As the situation continues to evolve, we will provide further information and updates.

If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact Denise Damian.
