The Houston Bar Association (@theHBA) would like to partner with the Brazoria County Bar Association on the HBA annual Constitution Day Reading Program. There are approximately 20 schools who need attorneys to read to their elementary students next week on the 17th in honor of Constitution Day. The link to sign up for a school is below. The HBA reads to all districts across Harris County and it takes about 1 hour on campus to read to two groups of students back to back. The book the Lawyers for Literacy Committee has selected is What Do You Do With A Voice Like That: The Story of Extraordinary Congresswoman Barbara Jordan by Chris Barton. This book is provided with a script and confirmation details to the volunteer and the volunteer donates the new hardback book to the school’s library following the readings.

Volunteers, please send Bonnie Simmons an email that you are with the Brazoria County Bar Association so that they can recognize our bar association as a partner on this project. Thank you for your time and consideration.
