LAW DAY 2019

“Free Speech and a Free Press: Blessings of a Free Society”

In the United States and in various countries around the world, freedom of speech and freedom of the press are important foundations for a free society.  A free society without these individual liberties is hard to imagine, yet historical and current debates surrounding them continually challenge us to consider their boundaries, especially with how technology has reshaped how one exercises their voice in a democracy.
