A Special Thank You to Judge Jerri Lee Mills

As you can see from the list of Board members above, the one name missing is Judge Jerri Lee Mills.  She is retiring from service on the Bar Association Board, but will continue to serve the Brazoria County Bar by serving on the Brazoria County Bar Foundation.  Judge Mills selflessly and with great passion served the Bar members by always encouraging dedication and service to our fellow Bar members.  She has been responsible for leading the Christmas Party Committee and Law Day Committee.  She helped us make sure these events were special– not only with special decorations, but with special meal selections, and thoughtful and entertaining guest speakers on Law Day.  She also chaired the CLE Committee for many years, doing her part to provide Bar members a thoughtful and varied assortment of phenomenal guest speakers.  Behind the scenes, even on committees she was officially a part of, she would provide helpful guidance and volunteer time to help ensure newer members of the Bar Board were mentored, so that we may all fulfill the goals of the Bar Association.

Many years ago, Judge Mills, along with Mark Jones and other members, helped return the Bar Association to a point where it was in a fiscally better place and in a position to truly serve its members–then, now, and for the future.  Without her and the team of dedicated Bar Board members throughout the years, we would not be where we are today.  A special thank you to the late Stan McGee, who was dedicated to service to the Bar and helped spark the interest of Judge Mills in serving on the Board.

We want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Judge Jerri Lee Mills who has served the Brazoria County Bar Association spanning decades!  We hope to continue with the values of service and dedication to the Association and its members, which she embodied.
