Free 1 day training CLE Opportunity, “Identifying and Addressing Interpersonal Violence & Strangulation”

presented by Kelsey McKay, J.D, on July 25th, 2019. The training will be held at the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. TCOLE credits will be reported by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, and 5.5 CLE credits will be reported by the Brazoria County Domestic Violence Court Program.

Topics of the training include: Anatomy & Evidence of Strangulation, Identifying the Perpetrator & Understanding the Dynamics, How to Convert Challenges into Convictions, and The Role of Fear & Survival in the Investigation/Prosecution of Interpersonal violence. Kelsey McKay was a prosecutor in Travis County for 12 years, and for 6 years exclusively prosecuted strangulation-related crimes. She now trains and consults nationally for communities on the topics of intimate partner violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and translating trauma.  Kelsey also is President of the RESPOND Against Violence nonprofit.
