New Member Application

INSTRUCTIONS:  After application and dues payment have been made, your application will be presented at the next scheduled Bar Board meeting for consideration for presentation at the next Bar meeting for official vote on membership. After successfully completing the application, you must remit payment and will be redirected to such online. A Premium Listing in the Membership Directory allows you to choose law practice categories for $25 each, per year. The premium listing is valid for 365 days starting on the date of admission to the Bar Association if you are current with dues and fees.  You will receive renewal email(s) starting at around 2 months prior to the expiration date of your premium listing, to afford you the opportunity to continue your Premium Listing without any interruption. "General" & "None/N.A." are free categories.

By applying for membership, you are opting-in to and consenting to receive emails from the Brazoria County Bar Association, Inc. If you enter your mobile number, you are opting-in to and consenting to receiving alerts and notices via text message services.  Carrier rates may apply.  You may update/unsubscribe at any time either in any email you receive from us or by contacting Tracy Gonzales. The emails we send are the most timely way to receive relevant information about CLE programs, meetings, dues renewal information, as well as other important news affecting our members. Processing online is the fastest and most efficient method, however, if you wish to print the application and complete, you may mail application and first annual dues payment to our administrative assistant at: Brazoria County Bar Association, Inc. 111 E. Locust St, Suite 315A  Angleton, TX 77515.

Member dues are $125 and judicial dues are $50.  Any member joining between April 1 and June 30 of a year shall pay full dues, which shall constitute payment through June 30 of the following year.  Any member joining between July 1 and December 31 of a year shall pay dues for a full year, which shall constitute payment of dues for membership through June 30 of the following year, consistent with the fiscal year of the Association. 

Any member joining between January 1 and March 31 of a year shall pay initial dues of fifty-percent (50%) of the full dues, which shall constitute payment of dues for membership through June 30 of the year in which the prorated dues are paid.  You will then need to renew at the regular rate by June 30 of the year in which you are applying.

JOIN THE BRAZORIA COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION

The Association has 250+ members who serve the legal profession and the community.  All members of the State Bar of Texas residing or maintaining offices in Brazoria County are eligible for membership. In addition, Members of the State Bar of Texas residing and/or practicing law outside of Brazoria County may apply for Non-Participatory membership.  The annual meeting is held in June of each year. Paralegals sponsored by a member of the Association may also join.  The Association’s goals are:

  • To advance the science of jurisprudence;

  • To promote the administration of justice;

  • To increase professional skills through continuing legal education;

  • To maintain the honor and integrity of the legal profession;

  • To promote high ethical standards of professional conduct; and

  • To cultivate social fellowship and cooperation among its members;
